Textile: Casentino cloth, now a registered trademark
(ANSA) – SOCI (AREZZO), 03 NOV – The Casentino cloth, woven with the particular orange color, is now a registered trademark.
This was announced by the Province of Arezzo, leader of the initiative that also aims at the recognition of “Ig geographical collective brand”.
The details were illustrated at a press conference at the headquarters of the Province, in the presence – among others – of the president Silvia Chiassai Martini, the parliamentarian Tiziana Nisini (Lega) and the president of the Arezzo-Siena Chamber of Commerce Massimo Guasconi. “I believe – said the president of the province of Arezzo Silvia Chiassai Martini – that it is a duty for the institution I represent, to support and promote the typical products of our territory.
For this reason, together with the Honorable Tiziana Nisini, the President of the Chamber of Commerce Massimo Guasconi and the CGIL we are proceeding with the registration of the trademark of the Panno del Casentino”.
We met the companies interested in this sector, namely Tacs Krima srl, Manifattura Casentinese, Tessitura Rd srl, Tessilnova, which have shown great interest in the creation and registration of the trademark. In collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, we are starting the procedures to be borne by the Province”, “at the same time, we are working on the drafting of the production specification, pending the approval of the new regulation for the protection of craft products, which take into account local specificities allowing the enhancement and protection of production traditions”.
